Using this website

This website is run by Havant Borough Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts

  • zoom up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen

  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Audio files can be created and downloaded from the website pages and played on another device should you wish.

Text on each page can also be translated into a wide variety of different languages.

How accessible is this website

We know some parts of our website are not fully accessible:

  • some pages and documents attached are not clearly written

  • some heading elements are not consistent and have contrast issues

  • some images are not marked as decorative

  • some images and videos do not have good alternative text
