Service Description

The return of this popular class, with new instructor, the lovely Becca! First date back is Monday 29th July! Otago is a muscle strengthening and balance retraining program developed and tested by the New Zealand Falls Prevention Research Group. The idea behind Otago is that muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and reaction time can all be improved to reduce your risk of falling and help make every day activities easier and more enjoyable. The benefits of exercise are plentiful. By participating in this program, you can improve: - Balance - Muscle strength - General fitness - General well-being - Coordination - Walking ability - Ability to do normal daily living activities / chores You will do a mix of seated and standing exercises, with chair support for those who need it. Your first session is FREE and then £5 a week thereafter. Please ensure you either book online the weeks you want to attend or inform instructor directly to avoid disappointment. We are lucky to have Steady and Strong classes all across the borough.
