Service Description

Weight lifting and stretching are useful at any age, but there are specific benefits for older adults. With aging comes concerns about strength, balance, and mobility. But integrating resistance training and stretching into your routine can keep you feeling healthy and strong. We are hosting a 6 week weights course at the new Wellbeing hub (Horizon Leisure). The course is for men over 55 in the borough to learn about lifting weights, in a safe environment with a trained professional. The aim of the course is to give the participants the confidence and skills to be able to continue strength training in gym environment or doing home workouts. Get Up and Go activities are aimed at adults over 18 in the borough with mild to moderate physical and mental health conditions and also people over 70 years of age. There are only 8 spaces on this course but we will also run some other courses in the future.
