Service Description

Whether you’re trying to cut fat, get stronger, or build tone and definition, strength training is for you. Here are the top reasons for adding strength training into your gym workouts: - Improved fat loss - More muscle, means more calories burnt - Stress relief - Increased energy - Healthy heart and bones - Reduced risk of injury We are hosting a 6 week course at the new Wellbeing hub (Horizon Leisure) for women in the borough to learn about lifting weights, in a safe environment with a trained professional. The aim of the course is to give the participants the confidence and skills to be able to continue strength training in gym environment or doing home workouts. Get Up and Go activities are aimed at adults over 18 in the borough with mild to moderate physical and mental health conditions. There are only 8 spaces on this course and spaces but we have an additional course running at 4pm - 5pm. We will also run some other courses in the future. We require everyone attending a Get Up and Go activity to complete a short registration form. You only have to do this once so if you have done this already you do not have to complete it again.
