Guided Walks at Staunton Country Park

Service Description
Guided walks take place on the first and third Tuesday of the the month. (Please note these are the Get Up and Go guided walks, the Wellbeing walks run by the Ramblers association can be found here https://beta.ramblers.org.uk/go-walking/wellbeing-walks ) These walks will be short (approximately 1 mile) along an easy–access path circumnavigating Staunton Lake taking in the stunning views and vistas of the Parkland. Walkers can choose from two themed walks focused on the 'Flora and Fauna' or the 'History and Heritage of the Park. The first Tuesday of each month will be a 'Heritage' walk and the third Tuesday will be 'Flora and Fauna'. The Flora and Fauna walks will vary in content as the seasons change throughout the year The History and Heritage of Staunton Country Park walks take in the Regency landscape created by George Staunton and his successor William Stone and its range of follies, Grade II listed buildings and ornamental lake. Learn about the history right on your doorstep Visit with friends, family or on your own. Meet others who are interested in history, wildlife and plant life within the park. Dates: Guided walks take place on the first and third Tuesday of the the month. 10.00am meet at the Coach House/Visitor Centre for a 10.15am start - 11.30am (Approximately). The visitor centre is at the country park side of the road, not the farm side. Parking charges apply when visiting the country park. You can use either of the car parks but the main car park at Petersfield Road (PO9 5HD) is closest to the visitor centre. There are residential roads around West leigh areas you can park in and walk over to avoid charges, if you need to. Staunton Country Park is located on Middle Park Way in Havant, on the border between Havant and Rowlands Castle. It's accessible via the A27 near Havant and from the A3 near Horndean too. The nearest railway station is Havant, and there is a bus stop at the entrance to the farm over the road. You can use the number 20 and number 21 (Stagecoach) or the number 27 (First Buses).
